Black money case splits SC bench

Supreme Court
New Delhi, Sept 23: A Two-judge Supreme Court bench on Friday, Sept 23 has given split verdict on Center's plea for recall of its order on appointment of Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe black money trail and alleged involvement of Hasan Ali Khan, India's biggest tax evader.

The bench referred Centre's recall application to Chief Justice for constitution of a larger bench to decide on its maintainability.

While Justice Altamas Kabir agreed to hear Centre's application, Justice SS Nijjar said that government's plea was not maintainable.

Earlier the Supreme Court had reserved its order after hearing.
