Actor Darshan's second bail plea deferred till Oct 6

Bangalore, Sept 22: Sandalwood actor Darshan, who has been arrested for allegedly assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi, seems to have got an other chance after the Karnataka High Court deferred his second bail application till October 6.

The Bangalore Court on Sept 20 had rejected the actor's first bail plea following which Darshan had applied for second plea on Sept 21. Police charged Darshan under IPC section 307 (Attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 498(A) (Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation).

The actor was discharged from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases, where he was undergoing treatment for asthma and jaundice since September 10, and was taken to Parapanna Agrahara jail on Sept 21.

Vijayalakshmi approached police alleging that her husband Darshan beat her up and threatened to kill their child. In her five page statement to police, Vijayalakshmi had also said that the actor was having an affair with his co-star Nikita Thukral while in the sets of his upcoming epic movie - Sangolli Rayann.
