Kannada actor Darshan discharged from hospital, sent to jail

Bangalore, Sep 21: Kannada actor Darshan who was arrested for threatening and assaulting his wife Vijayalakshmi has been discharged from Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases, where he was undergoing treatment and taken to Paarapana Agrahara Jail on Sep 21 (today).

Darshan was arrested on Sep 9 after his wife Vijayalakshmi filed a police complaint and was denied bail by the session court later on Sep 20, Tuesday.

Darshan's bail application was also rejected by a Magisterial court earlier.

"We have taught him how to take medicines orally. He is fit enough now and has been discharged," said, Dr Sashidhar Buggi, Hospital Director after the actor was discharged.

The actor was charged under IPC section 307 (Attempt to murder), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 498(A) (Husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation).

In her five page statement to police, Vijayalakshmi also said that the actor was allegedly having an affair with his co-star Nikita Thukral.

The actor's dark phase started when multiple diseases started affecting him and he was finally admitted at Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Disease.
