Baichung Bhutia appeals support for earthquake victims

The Chief Minister of Sikkim, Pawan Chamling also on Sep 20 (today) announced a compensation Rs 5 lakh to the family of those died in the earthquake and Rs 50, 000 to those injured in the disastrous earthquake that struck the North-East on Sep 18.
He also thanked the central government for their support.
"Nine villages with 10 thousand villagers completely cut off from the mainstream," he said.
Meanwhile, sources reveal that the road from Mangan to district headquarter is now open.
Many roads in the quake struck ares have been blocked completely and it will take atleast 20-30 days to clear the blocks, said the Army.
