Ramdev embarks on 1 lac km yatra against black money, graft

Gwalior, Sept 20: With political wannabes and others wanting to gain some mileage through fasts and yatras on a rise, Baba Ramdev too has joined the bandwagon and will kickstart "a 1,00,000 km long yatra" from Sept 20. He will start off his yatra from Jhansi in Madhya Pradesh in order to awaken people over the issue of corruption and black money.

In his usual high-octane rhetoric, Ramdev spoke at the venue and said that there were "two kinds of people in this country, honest and traitors". He arrived at the venue only after paying tribute at the samadhi of Rani Laxmi Bai here.

He announced that he had the backing of honest people in his fight against corruption and black money. On the aim of his yatra, Baba Ramdev said that his intention was to awaken people on the issue of "Rs 4,00,000 crore black money stashed in the foreign countries".

The yatra will culminate at Prayag in Uttar Pradesh.

On being asked if he would receive the same treatment meted out to him in Delhi for this yatra, he replied that the government had learnt its lesson and will not repeat the same mistake. He added that the fight against corruption was like a "religious war" for him.
