Cash-For-Votes: Hindustani collapses in court

New Delhi, Sept 19: Suhail Hindustani, who has been arrested for playing a key role in the Cash-for-votes scam, collapsed in Tis Hazari court on Sept 19. He complained of severe chest pain.

Hindustani was arrested in July this year for helping to bribe three BJP MPs to support the government in a trust vote in 2008. He allegedly played the middleman in the scam. According to Delhi police, Hindustani danced in the tune played by former Samajwadi party chief Amar Singh.

The police has also accused former BJP advisor, Sudheendra Kulkarni, of asking party MPs to offer themselves "for sale" ahead of the trust vote for Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Kulkarni, skipped his scheduled date to show up in the court today, Sept 19.
