Amar Singh's interim bail extended till Sep 27

New Delhi, Sep 19: The interim bail plea of Amar Singh, Ex-Samajwadi General Secretary,Rajya Sabha MP was extended on Monday (Today) till Sep 27 by a Delhi court. He was arrested on Sep 6 over his role in bribing BJP MPs in the cash for votes scam.

Special Judge Sangita Dhingra Sehgal also called BJP leader L K Advani's former helper Sudheendra Kulkarni, a co-accused in the case, to appear before court on September 27 without fail.

Meanwhile, Kulkarni failed to appear before court on Monday (Today) despite his written undertaking on Sept 6. Court also said that no further extension would be provide to him.

"More time is granted (to Kulkarni) but no time will be granted after September 27," the judge said.

The court also heard Amar Singh's regular bail plea argument from senior counsel Ram Jethhmalani and adjourned further hearing till Sept 27.

Court extended Singh's interim bail saying the terms and conditions of the bail would remain same as mentioned on Sep 15 at the time of the grant of interim bail.

The court had granted him interim bail on a personal bond of Rs 2 lakh with one surety of the same amount and also ordered him to submit his passport to it and not to leave Delhi without court permission.
