Quake hits Northern and Eastern India

New Delhi, Sep 18: Quake measuring 6.8 in Ritcher hits Sikkim-Nepal border on Sunday evening, Sep 18. Quakes also hits most of northern and eastern India. Tremors were felt in New Delhi, Kolkata, Patna, NCR, Guwahati.

But, reportedly, there has been no major damage. Epicentre believed to be 64 kms west from Gangtok and Sikkim. One of the witnesses said that the tremors were felt only for 10 to 15 seconds. According to India Meteorological Department, the tremors were felt around 6.11 pm. Few unconfirmed reports suggested death of 9 people in Sikkim.
