Miss Universe accused of forging documents to enter contest

Miss Universe 2011, Leila Lopes
Mumbai, Sep 18: Leila Lopes, Miss Universe 2011 has been accused of forging documents to enter and qualify the beauty pageant in England, said a report in Infobae, a Argentinian newspaper.

The newspaper report alleges Lopes of being given a undue advantage to take part in a Miss Angola competition for Angolan citizens living in the UK, despite of the fact that Lopes herself never lived outside Angola, said a report in MiD DAY.

The report also claims that her documents were forged by a man named Charles Mukano, which showed her as a student of business management at a British school making her eligible to take part in the contest.

Rumours also suggest that Mukano might have allegedly bribed the judges in England so that Lopes win.

Lopes is the first Miss Universe from Angola.
