Agra crude bomb blast not a terror attack? 4 people arrested
The low-intensity blast that took place in Agra's Jai Hospital left 8 injured, no casualty reported. The blast occurred at 5:45 pm broke the windowpanes in the reception area. Several patients were evacuated from the hospital and police cordoned off the entire area and conducted a combing operation.
Uttar Pradesh Anti-Terror Squad team was immediately sent to the spot. According to them, an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) used for the blast was kept in a bag at the reception counter of the hospital.
P K Tiwari, the Inspector General of Police, Agra, said that preliminary investigations suggested the use of a crude bomb, which was kept under a seat in the reception area.
Police have also announced a reward of Rs. 50,000 for any information on the attackers. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati has announced Rs. 1 lakh as compensation for the injured.
