2G: Political wrath behind delay in Kanimozhi getting bail?

Chennai, Sep 17: DMK president M Karunanidhi on Sep 16 wondered if "political intentions" were behind "delay" in his daughter Kanimozhi and Kalaignar TV MD Sharad Kumar getting bail.

While bail proceedings were due to come up this week, it was delayed once again as the court wanted to study a report on TRAI (over no loss to exchequer), Karunanidhi said in a statement.

"While closely watching these happenings and the reasons given for them, one has to be apprehensive if they are happening with political intentions", he said.

Meanwhile, the 2G accused Kanimozhi and Sharad Kumar applied for bail in the CBI court. The hearing of their bail plea will come up on Oct 1.
