High profile setting for Narendra Modi's Sadbhavana fast

Ahmedabad, Sep 17: Questions are being raised over why the state government is funding Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi's three day Sadbhavana fast, that is set to begin today (Sep 17).

The daily rent of Modi's fast venue is around Rs 5 lakh and an amount of 10 lakh has already been paid in advance. The venue also has air-conditioners, a bed for Modi to rest if he gets tired and comfortable sofas.

Meanwhile, Congress has spent around Rs 3 lakh for the venue and Rs 5,000 for water connection from municipality and other facilities where Congress leader Shankarsinh Vaghela will also begin his fast here today.

"Our Chief Minister is officially using tax payer's money for a personal need and making a circus out of it. I wonder, how I should react as a citizen," said social activist, Mallika Sarabhai.
