Scent of terror; now bomb threat from perfume bottles in HP

Shimla, Sept 16: With the world currently under a terror grip, terrorism and related attacks could hit anywhere or anybody in this time and age. Now there is a threat from perfume bottles as well. The Himachal Pradesh government has issued a warning to all govt employees to not accept perfume bottles as they fear that they might be used by terrorists as bombs.

The revelation was made by the Secretary in the General Administration Department of Himachal Pradesh in a letter to various departments. He was quoting an intelligence input that said that Pakistan-based terrorists have devised a new IED that is concealed in perfume bottles and will explode if used.

In the latest threat, the government has warned officials to be wary of such perfume bottles they receive from outside parties. Especially under threat are the gifts, employees receive in couriers. The authorities have warned against accepting such gifts.

The letter added that the intelligence inputs were given by IG Police (intelligence) CID Himachal Pradesh.
