Andhra Pradesh: Three Telugu Desam Party workers murdered

Hyderabad, Sept 15: Three Telugu Desam Party (TDP) workers were murdered brutally by unidentified people on Thursday (today), from same family, which evolved as another incident of factional violence in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh.

Police said that unidentified people hacked three people of the party including a woman and murdered near Mamilapalli in Dharmavaram mandal of Anantapur district, about 450 km from Hyderabad. Anantapur has been known for factional killings which is bordering Karnataka state.

According to police, the hackers who were in a car, blocked the TDP workers riding a motorbike. They attacked them with sickles and other sharp weapons. The dead workers have been identified as Narasimhulu, Anjaneyulu and Padmavati, all belonging to one family.

In last 15 years, factional violence has claimed over 500 lives in Anantapur and its surrounding region. Sources said that these factions are supported either by Congress or by TDP to dominate the villages.
