Sharad Pawar cons all; discloses wrong assets on website

Mumbai, Sept 14: Sharad Pawar, Union agriculture minister who recently disclosed his assets on Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's website, allegedly fooled all by declaring wrong assets, said reports.

The minister on Mar 31, 2011 declared that he owned assets worth Rs 12 crore and has shares worth 1.47 lakh in his and his wife's name in Panchil Hotels Ltd.

After a thorough investigation with the ministry of corporate affairs" registrar of companies (RoC) in Mumbai and Pune, it was found that there was no company called Panchsil Hotels Ltd.

Pawar's office in Delhi admitted to the error calling it "typing error" and the actual name of the firm was found to be Panchshil Hotels Pvt Ltd.

Pawar's document with the RoC also reveal that he along with his wife in Sept 2004 had Rs 1.45 lakh and Rs 1.47 lakh shares in the company.

Reports also reveal that Panchsil allotted the couple in Dec 2009, 1:1 bonus shares, raising the duo's holding in the company to 2.94 lakh and 2.90 lakh shares.

Records also prove that Pawar and his family that includes his wife Supriya Sule are investors in Panchshil Realty Group which grew at an unbelievable pace in the last decade undertaking projects in information technology, infrastructure, special economic zones, corporate parks, residential constructions and hospitality.
