Kannada actor Darshan moves sessions court for bail

Bangalore, Sept 14: Kannada actor Darshan has moved the sessions court in Bangalore seeking bail after he was arrested for assaulting and threatening his wife Vijayalakshmi.

The actor was denied bail on Tuesday, Sept 13 and his plea was reserved on Sept 12 by additional chief metropolitan magistrate.

The actor has been booked under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Darshan has also been booked under section 27 of the arms act.

Darshan's wife Vijayalakshmi had earlier lodged a case against the Sandalwood superstar on the grounds that he tortured her. Interestingly, his wife however, changed her statement later and said that she succumbed to injuries after falling in the bathroom.
