Kannada actor Darshan's bail plea rejected

Bangalore, Sept 13: Kannada actor Darshan's bail plea has been rejected, said reports.

The actor's bail plea was reserved on Sept 12 by additional chief metropolitan magistrate after the actor was arrested on the charges of assaulting and threatening to murder his wife Vijayalakshmi.

The actor has been booked under sections 307 (attempt to murder), 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 498A (husband or relative of husband of a woman subjecting her to cruelty) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). Darshan has also been booked under section 27 of the arms act.

The actor was earlier denied bail by Amrut Kumar, public prosecutor.

Darshan's wife Vijayalakshmi had earlier lodged a case against the Sandalwood superstar on the grounds that he tortured her. Interestingly his wife however changed her statement later and said that she succumbed to injuries after falling in the bathroom.

The actor's legal counsel also said the same as his wife Vijayalakshmi.
