Bar council to send inputs on Lokpal Bill

Barcouncil
Mumbai, Sept 13: The Bar Council of Maharashtra and Goa on Tuesday (Today), said that they will send its recommendations and inputs to the standing committee of the parliament, who will discuss the Lokpal bill.

Earlier, on Sept 10, a meeting was held on Lokpal bill issue which was attended by senior advocates, retired judge justice Dr. Dhanuka and members of the bar presided over by chairman of the bar, Anil Singh.

Sources said that the partcipants in the meeting have put their suggestions and inputs on Lokpal bill and most of them were in support of inclusion of prime minister under the purview of the Lokpal. But some of the members said that the Prime minister's inclusion should be with exceptions such as national security and foreign regulation. There was also mixed of opinion as to whether higher judiciary should be included under Lokpal"s ambit or under the judicial accountability bill.

The bar council will table all these inputs before the full house of the bar council where all the recommendations and inputs will be discussed and forwarded to the standing committee.
