UP: BJP leader's granddaughter harassed, killed

The victim's family accused Anupam's in-laws for "demanding Rs five lakh and a car in dowry". Police, confirming the arrest of the accused, said that five persons; father-in-law Prempal Singh, who is also district president of the RLD; mother-in-law Akhileshwari and brothers-in-law Pushpenadra, Ankit and Mudit -- have been booked on murder charges while the husband Jitendra has been charged with dowry harassment.
The deceased's father, Rajesh Singh blamed the accused of demanding dowry for conducting election campaign.
Here it can be recalled that Uttar Pradesh will hold its assembly election in 2012 and campaigning for the upcoming election has been started in Mayawati's state.
