Rubber Board aid for weed cutter

Kottayam, Sep 12: The Rubber Board will give financial assistance to Rubber Producers' Societies (RPSs), Rubber Self Help Groups (SHGs) and companies promoted by the Board for purchasing weed-cutting machine.

The amount of assistance will be 50 percent of the acutal cost of the equipment up to a maximum of Rs 14,500, an official statement said today.

The assistance will be for the purchase of a maximum of three machines by each company in the RPS sector and two by each RPS/SHG during the 11th plan period.

The scheme is aimed to promote farm mechanisation in the rubber small holding sector and to contain the shortage of labour forces to a certain extent, it said.
