Delhi Blast: PM calls for security beef-up at Supreme Court

After the first terror mail warned of attacks on the most important seat of judiciary - the Supreme Court, the PM asked Home Minister P Chidambaram and Law Minister Salman Khursheed to raise security arrangements there. They were also asked to co-ordinate with Chief Justice of India, SH Kapadia in doing so.
The attacks saw casualties consisting of mostly lawyers and the public who had congregated in the court premises on a bust Wednesday morning. The bomb was placed in a briefcase near the Gate No 5 entrance to ensure maximum casualties.
The email sent from HuJI operatives had warned of carrying out more deadly attacks if the death sentence for Afzal Guru is not commuted. Afzal Guru has been sentenced to death for his role in the Parliament attack case in 2001.
