Four terror emails & 'clueless' police mars Del blast probe
With the authorities not able to establish clear leads on the bomb blasts, the only fact the mails have managed to attain is to instill more fear and the warning has been extended to Ahmedabad as well. The email had warned of terror strikes in Ahmedabad.
With the first Harkat-ul-Jihad Islami (HuJI) mail retraced to Jammu and Kashmir, the officials seem to be groping in the dark with the IP traced to a college boy. The second mail was sent by the Indian Mujahideen and was traced to West Bengal. The third mail, on the other hand, was sent from a proxy server in Moscow.
With multiple groups claiming responsibility for the blasts, the second mail was purportedly sent by Chhotu Minani Ayushman on behalf of the Indian Mujahideen, while the third mail was sent from a mail ID 'I'll kill Indians @ yahoo.com'. The mail was received by the Delhi Police and had targeted Ahmedabad.
Late Friday night also saw authorities receiving another mail from Chhotu Minani stating that Ahmedabad would be targeted and also said that the police would not be able to find any evidence on it.
