Delhi rain shows the day to Amar Singh; NO bail, says court

Amar Singh
New Delhi, Sep 9: The former Samajwadi Party leader Amar Singh will stay in Delhi's Tihar jail as the court hearing on Friday, Sep 9 has been deferred till Sep 12. His interim bail plea also has been rejected by the Delhi court.

However, it seems that the heavy rain has earlier hinted Singh that he would not receive any "good news" on Friday. Citing the heavy traffic jam caused by heavy rains in the city, the court hearing was delayed.

The Tihar jail authorities sent the medical reports of the former Samajwadi Party leaders who had refused to submit his blood sample. Amar Singh's lawyer claimed that he (Singh) needs serious medical treatment and demanded bail for Singh.

Here it can be recalled that Singh was arrested over his tainted role in Cash-for-votes scam which had rocked the Parliament during Indo-US nuclear deal in 2008.

Singh has been sent to jail under judicial custody till Sep 19. Two former Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) lawmakers Faggan Kulaste and Mahavir Singh Bhagora have also been arrested under judicial custody over the same scam.
