Yahoo CEO Carol Bartz fired over the phone

San Fransisco, Sep 7: Carol Bartz, Yahoo CEO has been fired and replaced with Tim Morse, Chief financial officer, ending Bartz's two year tenure, said Yahoo Inc.

In an article in The Wall Street Journal, Bartz in an email to the employees informed that she was fired over the phone by Chairman Roy Bostock.

"I am very sad to tell you that I've just been fired over the phone by Yahoo's Chairman of the Board. It has been my pleasure to work with all of you and I wish you only the best going forward," said Bartz in the email.

The company shares also rose up on Nasdaq in after-hours to $13.72 from $12.91.
