Cash-for-votes mastermind Amar Singh arrested

New Delhi, Sept 6: Amar Singh, Rajya Sabha member and Rashtriya Lok Manch President who has been charged under the cash-for-votes scam has been arrested and put under judicial custody. His arrest was after high drama involving his health.

Amar Singh along with 3 others have been sent to custody till Sept 19. Ex BJP MPs Kulaste and Bhogara and MP Ashok Argal have also been jailed along with Singh. Amar Singh was earlier chargesheeted for offering bribe to three BJP MPs in 2008 under the Prevention of Corruption Act.

Following high drama citing his medical condition, the court dismissed Amar Singh's plea of ill health. He had cited that he was suffering from kidney ailments.
