Lucknow district jail officials transferred in CMO case

Lucknow, Sep 4: Two senior officials of Lucknow district jail has been transferred in connection with deputy chief medical officer Y S Sachan case who died under a unpredicted circumstances in the jail.

Jailor B S Mukund has been transferred to Mainpuri and senior prison superintendent S H M Rizvi has been tranfered to Basti, Deputy Inspector General Prisons (Lucknow) Sharad said.

Y S Sachan, who was behind the bar in connection with the NRHM scam in April 2011, was found dead inside the toilet Lucknow district jail hospital on June 22 and later a murder case was registered.

Mainpuri jailor R N Singh has been posted in place of Mukund and jail superintendent Aligarh Sanjiv Tripathi will take charge of the Lucknow jail.

Earlier, jail officials claimed that Sachan committed suicide but later by post-mortem and judicial inquiry it was confirmed that he was killed.In response to the report the Uttar Pradesh government suggested a CBI inquiry into the CMO incident.
