Justice Sen ready with excuses to skip LS impeachment?

New Delhi, Sep 3: Justice Soumitra Sen seems to leave no stone unturned to skip the upcoming Lok Sabha Impeachment on Monday, Sep 5. Sen, who has sent his resignation letter to the LS speaker has not yet decided on appearing in the Lok Sabha if it went ahead with his impeachment proceedings.

Justice Sen might have decided to resign in order to avoid disgrace of being the first judge to be impeached by the Parliament, but the Lok Sabha, finally decided to go ahead with its impeachment process.

When enquired about Sen's presence in Lok Sabha for the upcoming proceedings on Monday, his lawyer Subhash Bhattacharya cleared,“He has not yet decided whether to go or not because of a medical emergency in his family."

“Since the resignation letter, written and signed by Justice Sen, has been received by the office of the President, it is expected that the Parliament may not proceed further," Mr. Bhattacharya said.
