Fear of failing in Biochem, medical students attempt suicide

Kanpur, Sep 3: Three students of government-run Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Medical College shocked all authorities and other students after attempting suicide together. The three students reportedly attempted to kill themselves over the fear that they would fail in the Biochemistry examination.

The three MBBS students - Vivek Gautam, Shobhit and Sanjeev Kumar consumed poison on Friday, Sep 2. Soon after they were admitted in a near by hospital - Halet hospital.

The doctors of Halet hospital, however, informed that the three students' conditions were critical.

However, many other started doubting a different story citing the suicidal note left by the students.

According to the note, the students accused one of their teacher of hurling casteist remarks against them (the three students) as they are Dalits.
