Cash-For-Vote: Kingpin Amar Singh still not arrested?

New Delhi, Aug 2: Presently, the nation has a question - Why is Cash for votes scam mastermind politician Amar singh still moving free? Though Rajya Sabha MP Amar Singh has been chargesheeted for the crime, the Delhi police is still hesitant to arrest him.

The Delhi Police's investigation claims to have found enough evidence to pin Mr Singh down. Cellphone records show Singh's close aide Sanjeev Saxena, made several calls to Mr Singh's residence in the hours before the trust vote. The money - one crore - that was paid as an advance to the BJP MPs was delivered in a jeep registered with one of Mr Singh's companies. Mr Singh's denial that Mr Saxena worked closely with him has been over-ridden - the police has enough material including notes written by Mr Singh on his official letter-head that declare Mr Saxena to be his aide.

In spite of these strong evidences, Singh has not been arrested. Sources claim that Singh's stature as a political heavyweight has made the police nervous. The police wants to ensure that it has carefully cross-checked its allegations against him. But, both Saxena and Sohail Hindustani have been arrested in July, 2011.
