Om Puri, Kiran Bedi to be jailed for 15 days?

New Delhi, Aug 30: Bollywood actor Om Puri and former IPS officer Kiran Bedi may have to undergo a dark phase ahead. Infuriated by Puri's scathing remarks and Bedi's "Ghoonghat Act" against politicians, a few MPs have slammed the duo by moving privilede notices against them. If found guilty of breach of privilege, they can face up to 15 days in jail.

Puri earlier had thrashed the politicos saying, “Yeh anpadh hain, inka kya background hai? Aadhe se zyaada MP ganwaar aur nalaayak hain (They are uneducated; what"s their background? More than half of the MPs are illiterate and useless), sab neta chor hain (all leaders are thieves)."

But, later Puri appoligised for his remarks by claiming, “I was not drunk; I was just emotionally charged," the actor said. “I respect Parliament and the Constitution. It was wrong on my part to use such words."

Bedi had parodied politicians for "wearing masks", pulling a scarf over her head. But, the firebrand lady refused to apologise and tweeted, "Sorry no apology for being demonstratively a voice of public anguish. Prepared for any punishment."

Samajwadi Party leader Ramgopal Yadav on the context of this issue said, "More than 80% members in this House are graduates and those who are not educated are also more competent than many educated ones."
