Team Anna wants Lokpal Bill soon; Will Govt ditch again?

New Delhi, Aug 28: Following a day-long Parliamentary debate over Lokpal Bill. the government passed the resolution on Saturday, Aug 27. Citing the government's latest move, Anna Hazare broke his fast on the cheerful Sunday morning. However, many started asking - will Manmohan Singh's government ditch Anna Hazare and his Team Anna?

Team Anna on Sunday demanded that Lokpal Bill, which has currently been shifted to the Standing Committee of the Parliament, should be passed within one month.

One of the crucial members of the Team Anna, Prashant Bhushan said, "We hope that the government convenes a special session of Parliament within a month's time to pass Lokpal Bill."

People started doubting the government as it's (government) earlier words (to bring consensus over Lokpal thriugh creating joint committee) failed to satisfy the 74-year-old Gandhian crusader.

Despite holding several meets of the joint committee (five members from civil society and five from the government side), government tabled it's version of Lokpal and snubbed Anna's Jan Lokpal.

Citing government's inaction over his demands, Anna resumed his indefinite fast on Aug 16 as he had vowed earlier. Anna held his first fast-unto-death in Apr 2011 demanding anti-corruption Lokpal Bill which was being left unnoticed for last 43 years.
