Achuthanandan hates 'slave mentality' for the royals

Thiruvanathapuram, Aug 28: VS Achuthanandan, CPI(M) leader has again come into news after he slammed the adoration of the Royal family of Travancore.

Achuthanandan expressed his strong disapproval for the adoration of the royals being called princes and princesses in a press conference on a 'Democratic Kerala and treasures of the Padmanbhaswamy temple'.

"Even politicians and ministers speak in a ceremonial language of respect and fear when they address royal family members. This shows their slave mentality," he said.

Achuthanandan also slammed ministers and politicians who called the royal family with names like "your excellency" and "his highness".
