South-west monsoon weak over Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram, Aug 25: South-west monsoon has been weak over Kerala. Rain occurred at a few places in Kerala and at isolated places in Lakshadweep.

According to meteorology sources here, the chief amounts of rainfall reports in cm are Aryankavu 3, Kannur, Vellanikkara, Chalakudy, Irinjalakuda, Vadakkanchery, Kudulu and Manchery 2 each.

Another 12 stations reports rainfall of 1 cm. Forecast valid until the morning of August 27, rain or thunder showers will occur at many places in Kerala and isolated places in Lakshadweep.

Fishermen warning: Strong onshore winds from north-westernly direction speed occasionally reaching 45-55 KMPH is likely along off Kerala coast and over Lakshadweep area during next 24 hours, outlook no significant change.
