Apple copied iPad design from Hollywood movie: Samsung

In response to Apple's law suit against Samsung Galaxy products, South Korea-based Samsung said that the first iPad was designed by Hollywood filmmaker Stanley Kubrick for the movie '2001: A Space Odyssey' which released in 1968.
Samsung's claims came in response to Apple's patent law suite accusing Samsung of "slavishly" copying iPhone and iPad. Both the tech companies are in legal fight over the patent infringement in various countries.
According to a report in Sydney Morning Herald, Samsung showed a still image and a YouTube clip taken from Stanley Kubrick's film 2001: A Space Odyssey. The clip shows two astronauts eating while at the same time using what appear to be personal tablet computers.
Samsung says this was an example of "prior art" for the general design of the iPad.
