Dump the toothless Lokpal Bill: Shatrughan Sinha to Govt

New Delhi, Aug 24: Former Bollywood actor and BJP leader Shatrughan Sinha on Jul 23, supporting Anna Hazare's anti-corruption campaign asked the government to dump the "toothless" Lokpal bill in favour of Jan Lokpal bill and backed L K Advani's demand for resignation of the Prime Minister.

"UPA government should see the writing on the wall and table Jan Lokpal bill in Parliament for wider discussion," Sinha said. "People across the country are rightly describing the 'sarkari' Lokpal bill as jokepal bill...the bill is toothless as it keeps the Prime Minister out of its ambit and provides no no effective remedy against corruption at the higher level," Sinha slammed the govt.

"Advaniji has rightly demanded resignation of the Prime Minister as he has been proved ineffective to check price rise or take a strong action against corruption," he said.
