Youth Congress protests against bus fire incident

Ten persons, including two children, were charred to death while 17 others seriously injured, when driver of a private bus set afire another bus following an argument with driver of another bus.
Today's road-blockade, led by Youth Congress leader Abhishek Thakkar, was held on the Agra-Mumbai national highway and resulted in traffic-jam on both sides of the highway, police said.
Police had to resort to cane-charge, as the YC workers did not give heed to police's appeal of lifting the blockade.
Around a dozen workers were injured in the cane-charge, while six persons were taken into custody. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is scheduled to arrive in the district to take a stock of the situation, police said.
Besides demanding Rs 10 lakh compensation, the protesters also demanded immediate arrest of the accused, they added.
