Anna fever goes higher, 1200 supporters fall sick
People have been suffering and complaining of dehydration and fever. "Every third person is complaining of high fever and weakness. Some people have even fainted. The rain has also spoilt the preparations. The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) should take some necessary steps regarding this," said one of the volunteers deputed at the medical camp at Ramlila Grounds.
"I was very thirsty and so I headed for water tanker after which I threw up. Since then I am not feeling well. I lay down at the back of the ground under the tents," said 36-year-old Rakesh Kumar.
Mayor Prof Rajni Abbi, who visited the Ramlila grounds said, "It is being ensured that anti-mosquito spray is intensified, the garbage generated is lifted from time to time. 20 truck loads of garbage and soft earth have been spread to level the ground. I have directed the officers to see that arrangements with regard to fogging, lifting and transportation of waste are made as per requirement. In case it rains, the water should be immediately drained out and the ground be made dry."
