Shame on Mayawati: 13-year-old girl raped, killed in UP

Lucknow, Aug 20: Bringing more shame to Mayawati-led government in Uttar Pradesh, a 13-year-old girl was allegedly raped and killed in Lakhimpur Kheri district.

According to police officials, the girl was raped and killed when she had gone to attend nature's call in Umra village of the district on Friday, Aug 19. Officials identified the criminal as Kamlesh Rana, who is absconding after the brutal act.

The victim's mother lodged a complaint to the police accusing Kamlesh Rana behind the act. Police filed an FIR and according to it the girl was raped and strangulated to death.

A case was registered under relevant sections and a special team has been formed to nab the accuser.
