UP: Anna supporters beaten-up

Farrukhabad, Aug 21: Anti-corruption crusader, Anna Hazare's supporters were thrashed by the police in Farrukhabad, Uttar Pradesh.

The cops who beat the supporters were a part of Salman Khursheed's security cover.

The protestors were beaten up after they blocked the ministers procession waving black flags. The adamant protestors lay down before his car refusing to let his car move, attracting the wrath of the police deployed for Khursheed's security.

The incident took place when Khursheed was on his way to a two-day visit to his parliamentary constituency.

Meanwhile, 80 people were arrested after they were on their way to protest in front of the Prime Minister's house at 7RCR in New Delhi. The call to take part in protest was initiated by Team Anna in support of a strong Lokpal bill.

In a criticism of the Prime Minister, Anna's supporters also announced their feelings via banners that read “get well soon".
