TN: School HM suspended for sexually abusing girl students

Molestation
Madurai, Aug 19: A government school headmaster in Tamil Nadu was suspended for sexually assaulting three eighth standard girl students, education department officials said.

The suspension for Dhanasekaran, Headmaster of SRM Government School at Tiruthangal, was passed after the students' family filed a complaint with he National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR).

Similar complaint was also lodged to district Superintendent of Police by Henry Tiphange, a Right to Education Representative to NCPCR and head of Madurai-based NGO People's Watch.

Dhanasekaran is facing a departmental inquiry to the matter. Some of the officials alleged that local police was trying to compromise the case by offering money to victims' family. Local police asked families to give a letter saying that their children were only reprimanded for not standing in row.

But the issue was taken to People's Watch fact finding team and the matter came to notice of NCPCR chief Shantha Sinha and SP Najmal Hoda.
