SC: Cutoffs for OBC students in Univ to remain same

New Delhi, Aug 18: The Supreme Court on Thursday, Aug 18 has finally announced its verdict over OBC quota issues in Central Universities. Reportedly, the OBC cutoffs would remain the same. Cutoff for OBC is 10% lower than that for general category students.

Following a petition by PV Indersan, a former professor of IIT Madras, seeking its direction in the light of discrepancies in implementation of OBC quota in different educational institutions, the court Aug 3 has reserved its order.

Indersan had approached the apex court against the Delhi High Court judgement which said the cut-off marks for OBC should be 10 per cent less than the minimum eligible marks for general category candidates.
