Anna flexes muscles, Govt blinks; 15-day fast agreed upon

New Delhi, Aug 18: Looks like the impasse between Anna Hazare and the Government is coming to a close. After last minute change in stand and a melt-down in attitude, Anna Hazare is most likely to walk out of Tihar jail on Thursday. He is expected to walk out at 3pm. The govt has finally given a go-ahead for Anna to fast for 15 days at the Ram Lila Maidan. The decision was made late last night after hectic parleys between Delhi Police and the core members of the Anna camp.

With the Tihar jail premises abuzz with activity after supporters gathered there waiting for their hero – Anna Hazare to walk out, the hard-line stand the govt took earlier seem to be melting. Soon after release, Anna is expected to go to Ram Lila Maidan.

Anna Hazare is continuing with his fast even inside the Tihar jail. Doctors checking up on him in within the jail premises have said that his health is fine with his vital parameters in pristine condition. However, he will undergo a detailed medical check-up at 10am on Thursday at Tihar jail.
