Rahul, PM stoop to Anna & India Against Corruption: Sources

Anna Hazare and Rahul Gandhi
New Delhi, Aug 17: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Congress' Rahul Gandhi stooped to Anna Hazare and his (Anna's) demands for the India Against Corruption movement, sources informed on Wednesday, Aug 17.

According to sources, Rahul and the PM called an emergency meeting and discussed the grave issue on Anna and the swelling nation-wide support for Anna's cause - a strong Jan Lokpal Bill.

During the meeting, Rahul and the PM reportedly agreed that it was unnecessary to arrest Anna and also decided to use back channel talk to persuade the Gandhian crusader and Team Anna to withdraw their fast-protest.

Swami Agnivesh could be the mediator between the government and Team Anna, sources informed. However, the final decision will be taken in the Congress' core party meeting which will be held at 7 RCR at 10 am.

Meanwhile, Team Anna currently led by Kiran Bedi, Manish Sisodia asserted that Anna and his supporters will continue their protest untill and unless the government hands over unconditional permission to start hunger strike at JP Park in Delhi.
