Govt bends till it hurts;Anna given go-ahead unconditionally

New Delhi, Aug 17: Cutting a sorry figure in its stand on Anna Hazare and his movement on anti-corruption, the government has finally conceded to Anna's demands and dropped all fast conditions.

Now there will be no conditions on the number of days that Anna Hazare intends to fast. With news earlier emerging that the fast venue is going to be the Ram Lila Grounds due to its sheer capacity and secure environment, the further softening stand will place Team Anna on a moral high ground.

With the new offer put forth by the government, Anna Hazare presently housed in the Tihar Jail has not yet made a comment on this front. Key Hazare aides and Art of Living founder Sri Sri Ravi Shankar were in hectic parleys with Anna in Tihar to break the deadlock situation.

The new venue, Ram Lila Maidan can hold about 25,000-30,000 people and all sort of restrictions will be lifted in terms of number of people and number of vehicles. The Delhi Police is also believed to have agreed to most of Anna's demands.
