IPS officer behind Anna Hazare supporter's murder?

Bhopal, Aug 16: A day after Shehla Masood, RTI activist was shot dead outside her residence in Bhopal, startling revelation has come out in open that the deceased was being threatened by an IPS officer and feared for her life.

The RTI activist was on her way to support Anna Hazare's protest campaign when she was shot dead. Police have set up five teams in Bhopal to probe into the matter.

"Shehla Masood was shot dead around 11 am when she was sitting in her car," said Adarsh Katiar, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP). He further added that the real motive behind the murder was still unknown and the police was on a lookout for the assailant.

Shehla was cremated on August 16. According to reports, the wild life enthusiast was threatened and harassed by an IPS officer, Pawan Shrivastava. She had even written a letter to Director General of Police complaining against the IPS officer for making threatening calls.

The letter revealed that the RTI activist was being harassed from 2008 and she feared for her life. (Read more: After Anna's arrest, anti-corruption crusader shot dead).
