PC, Sibal's justification on Anna's detention

New Delhi, Aug 16: Home Minister P. Chidambaram finally spoke out and justified Anna Hazare's detention. According to Chidambaram, Anna was arrested after he said he would defy law.

Favouring government, Chidambaram said that the government is not against democratic peaceful protests. "Team Anna refused to accept our conditions and also refused to give an undertaking. Protests are accepted but, under specific conditions," Chidambaram said.

He also added that the government held a discussion with the police as well as the civil rights society. On other hand, Kapil Sibal justified that protests should happen as per law.
