Fight for Jan Lokpal: Kiran Bedi released after detention

New Delhi, Aug 16: Kiran Bedi and Shanti Bhushan, have been released from detention. They were earlier this morning, the Delhi Police had taken them into Preventive Custody to avoid any disturbance in peace.

Bedi, the first lady IPS officer, in an interview with CNN-IBN after her release, blamed the Delhi police for messing up the situation. She said that the Delhi police could have easily managed to allow a sit-in protest but instead preferred to take them into detention.

Meanwhile, Anna Hazare has been sent into seven days of judicial custody.
