Anna won't take water after arrest: Anna team

New Delhi, Aug 16: Anna Hazare, determined on his protest against corruption, claimed to continue his fast even under the police custody. He was arrested after 3 hours of detention on Tuesday, Aug 16. He was arrested under Section 107/151 of CrPc.

According to the Anna team, Hazare has been sticking to his protest and has decided to continue his fast. Reportedly, he won't even take water after his arrest. "He is on fast. He is not even taking water," a spokesperson for the Hazare Team said.

Gandhian Hazare, who had announced to go for an indefinate fast on Aug 16 demanding withdrawal of the "weak" Lokpal Bill and introduction of a strong legislation to fight corruption, was detained from an apartment in east Delhi's Mayur Vihar this morning. He was arrested after police failed to persuade him to call off his plans to defy prohibitory orders and stage a protest at Jai Prakash Narain Park.

Besides Hazare, his close associates Arvind Kejriwal, Kiran Bedi and Shanti Bhushan were also detained by the police.
