Delhi: Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal detained ahead of fast

New Delhi, Aug 16: Anna Hazare and Arvind Kejriwal have been detained from Anna's residence Mayur Vihar near Supreme Enclave in Delhi on Tuesday, Aug 16 ahead of his scheduled fast-unto-death protest.

Anna, who has already started his fast, has been taken into preventive custody along with Arvind Kejriwal. Meanwhile, Kiran Bedi and Manish Sisodia, other two close aides of Anna also have been detained around 7:25 am on Tuesday.

Police have already imposed section 144 at Jai Prakash Narain Park prohibiting gathering of people around the area. In the early morning, around 100 people were detained over showing protest at Jai Prakash Narayan Park, the scheduled venue for Anna's fast for a strong Jan Lokpal Bill.

Another eminent member of team Anna, lawyer Prashant Bhushan claimed that government will face nation-wide protest over Anna's detention and also informed that Anna will continue his fast without any violence.
