Anna goes Ramdev's way,starts meditation before fast-protest

Anna Hazare
New Delhi, Aug 15: Anna Hazare started meditation at Raj Ghat in the national capital a day before his fast which has been scheduled to be resumed on Tuesday, Aug 16.

It seems that ahead of a tough and crucial battle, the Gandhian crusader was accumulating strength to fight back police who denied permission to hold a fast-unto-death protest at Jay Prakash Narain Park.

After receiving verbal support from Baba Ramdev, Anna visited Raj Ghat on the eve of 65th independence day on Aug 15 and sat for mediation.

Police informed that they will not allow Anna and his team to enter the Jay Prakash Narain Park and also will impose section 144 at the entire region to prevent human gathering.

Citing a chance to create law and order situation in the national capital, police rejected team Anna's demand to start fast. However, the defiant team Anna vowed to move the court against the cops' decision.

Delhi police on Saturday, Aug 13 sent a letter with 22 conditions to team Anna who then had rejected to accept the undertaking. Two of the conditions said that Anna can hold his fast only for three days, i.e. till 6 pm of Aug 18 and maximum 5000 people can gather there at the venue to support Anna and his team.
